Equipment guide
The platform is 100% software — it runs in the browser on any device, nothing to install. You don't need to buy any equipment specific to RDP (in fact, we don't sell or lease any of it). This page is just a practical reference for anyone setting up or upgrading their kitchen.
Kitchen (KDS)
The KDS screen is just a browser in full-screen mode — any combination of touch monitor + fanless mini PC gets the job done. Neither one needs to be powerful.
| Brand/Model | Profile | Price range |
|---|---|---|
| Elo 1502L (Elo Touch) | Enterprise-grade market standard for POS/retail — pricier, more durable, official support | $$$ |
| MUNBYN 15" POS Touch Monitor | Built specifically for restaurants/bars, "true flat" (easy to wipe down grease/splashes), no driver needed | $$ |
| HOWENS 15.6" IPS Touchscreen | Cheaper option, still has VESA 75x75, 10-point touch | $ |
| Brand/Model | Profile |
|---|---|
| MeLE Quieter series (e.g. Quieter4C) | Truly fanless (zero noise/dust/grease getting in), native VESA mount, built to stay on 24/7 — best fit for a kitchen |
| MINIX Z150-0dB | Same category (silent, N150), a good alternative |
You don't need a powerful processor — it's just a browser showing a web page, a basic chip (Intel N100/N150) is more than enough. Fanless matters more than power here, precisely because it's a kitchen.
Picking
Any mid-range Android phone the store already has works fine — a normal rear camera and an up-to-date browser are the only real requirement.
It's not worth buying a new device just for this.
Counter
Epson OmniLink TM-m30III — native Ethernet, ePOS-Print, the right choice for printing receipts/labels straight over the network once this feature is available.
Prices (the $ / $$ / $$$ ranges) are market reference at the time this page was written — they vary by region and availability, and are not charged or guaranteed by RDP.
RDP doesn't sell or lease any physical equipment — recommendations are just that, a suggestion of compatible models. Acquiring, physically setting up, and maintaining the equipment is the business's own responsibility.
